Honey Lemon Pepper Wings (Air Fryer)

These Honey Lemon Pepper Chicken Wings are coated in a lemon pepper seasoning, cooked until crispy in an air fryer, and then tossed in a zesty honey lemon pepper glaze. Perfect for Game Day! Naturally gluten-free.

Ingredients

Chicken Wings

Honey Lemon Pepper Glaze

  • finely grated lemon zest of one lemon
  • 3 tablespoons (45ml) lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons (45ml) water
  • 2 tablespoons (42g) honey
  • 2 tablespoons (28g) butter
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • ½ teaspoon lemon pepper seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Prepare the wings. Preheat the air fryer for 2 to 3 minutes at 390℉. Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels, and place them in a large mixing bowl. Toss the wings with the oil, lemon pepper seasoning, and salt.
  • Air fry the wings. Place the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket and cook for 10 minutes. 
  • Flip the wings. Using tongs, carefully flip the chicken wings and continue to cook for another 5-10 minutes until golden brown, registering at 165°F with a meat thermometer. Transfer the cooked chicken wings to a large bowl.
  • Make the glaze. In a medium-sized saucepan over medium heat, add the lemon zest, lemon juice, minced garlic, honey, butter, lemon pepper seasoning, and salt. Bring the mixture to a simmer while whisking continuously for 5-8 minutes or until thickened.
  • Set glaze aside. Turn off the burner and let the glaze rest for 2-3 minutes. The glaze will thicken as it cools.
  • Coat the wings. Pour the glaze over the top of the wings and toss until they are evenly coated in the glaze. Plate the wings and reserve any remaining glaze as a dipping sauce on the side.

Notes

To store: Store any leftover wings in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days. 
To reheat: Preheat the fryer to 350℉ and cook them for just 3 to 4 minutes until they’re warmed through.
