Ingredients

- Salami: You will need around 20-30 slices of salami, depending on the size of the glass. Look for healthier meat options without antibiotics, preferably organic when possible.
- Glass: I find using a 2" diameter champagne glass allows for a tighter spiral to the center, which gives a more realistic look to the salami rose. You could always use a wine glass but will need around 30 slices.
Instructions

Start with a clean glass.
To create the first layer, fold one piece of salami halfway over the rim of the glass. Gently squeeze the slice with your fingertips to help secure it to the glass.
Grab another piece. Continue to overlap the salami by placing it in the middle of the first piece. Repeat until the rim is fully covered.

Start the next layer by repeating this process, overlapping the first layer.
Fold each slice in the middle of the previous slice, making your way around the glass.

Repeat this process creating several layers.

Once the bottom of the salami is fully closed and you no longer see a hole showing through, flip the glass over and slowly pull the glass away, releasing the salami rose.

Expert Tips
- Add appetizer forks- Start at the bottom layer of the salami rose and work your way toward the middle of the salami slices. Having appetizer forks nearby will allow guests to grab a piece without using their hands.
- Use a champagne flute- Making salami roses using a champagne flute will allow for a tighter spiral, which gives a more authentic look.
- Only use circular cuts of meat- Thinly sliced salami and pepperoni work best for meat roses. Do not use deli meats, they will not hold.
