Feta and Spinach Turkey Burgers with Sundried Tomatoes

These delicious feta and spinach turkey burgers are packed full of Mediterranean flavors, easy to make, and perfect for a quick weeknight dinner. Enjoy them with a bun or protein-style lettuce wrapped.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey 93% lean
  • ¼ cup red onion, diced
  • ¼ cup sun-dried tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 2 ounces feta, crumbled
  • 1 cup baby spinach, loosely packed and roughly chopped
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Combine the ingredients. Add the ground turkey, red onion, garlic, sun-dried tomatoes, spinach, dill, oregano, feta, salt, and black pepper to a large bowl.

  • Gently mix. Using a spoon, stir the turkey mixture together until combined.

  • Form the patties. Divide the mixture to form 4 large patties, smoothing and rounding out the edges. Set the patties on a plate, cover, and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes.

  • Cook the patties. Heat the grill to medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side. They should have nice grill marks on the outside and be cooked through. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure they reach an internal temperature of 165°F. Serve with your favorite burger toppings of your choice. 
  • Serve. Top with tzatziki sauce and your favorite burger toppings.

Notes

Cooking Methods
  • Bake: Bake on a lined baking sheet in the oven at 350°F for 15-20 minutes.
  • Grill: Heat the outdoor grill to medium-high heat. Cook the raw patties for 4-5 minutes on each side. They should have nice grill marks on the outside and be cooked through.
  • Stovetop: Heat a large cast-iron skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add 1 tablespoon of oil and then add the patties. Cook for 5-6 minutes, flip, and cook for another 5-6 minutes until golden and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
 
Storage
  • Leftover Storage: These turkey burger patties will last 4 days in an airtight container in the fridge.
  • Freezing: Transfer them to a freezer-safe bag or container with parchment paper in between. They will keep in the freezer for up to 3 months.
  • Reheating: Microwave turkey patties until warm.
