Why You'll Love This Pomegranate Aperol Spritz

We love to serve this pomegranate Aperol spritz and my cranberry Aperol spritz during the fall and winter months. This holiday spritz features citrusy Aperol paired with tart pomegranate juice and topped with bubbly Prosecco and sparkling water! Here are some more reasons why you will love this pomegranate Aperol spritz:

    • Easy to make. The perfect cocktail! Add all of the ingredients to a large wine glass and stir!
    • Delicious festive flavors! Tart pomegranate juice and bright, citrusy Aperol are combined with bubbly sparkling wine to create a light and refreshing cocktail.
    • A beautiful cocktail to serve during the holidays. Its vibrant orange and red color can be dressed with fresh orange slices and pomegranate arils for an elegant look to serve at a holiday party.

    Pomegranate Aperol Spritz Ingredients

You’ll need the following key ingredients to make this holiday pomegranate Aperol spritz:

Ingredients for Pomegranate Aperol Spritz. Prosecco, sparkling water, Aperol, pomegranate juice, pomegranates, orange slices.
    • Aperol: A bitter-sweet Italian apéritif with orange, rhubarb, and various herbs.
    • Pomegranate Juice: Use pure, unsweetened pomegranate juice; otherwise, the cocktail will come out too sweet.
    • Prosecco: Use any dry/brut Prosecco or sparkling wine you like.
    • Sparkling Water: A splash of club soda or sparkling water will give you the perfect amount of fizz without overpowering the drink.
    • Garnishes: Pomegranate seeds, sliced navel oranges, rosemary stems, or cinnamon sticks add a festive touch and winter flavor.

    Expert Tips

    • Use a large white wine glass. This winter Aperol spritz has around 8 ounces of liquid so you'll need a large wine glass or champagne flutes to accommodate.
    • Get festive with your garnishes! Add a sprig of rosemary, a spoonful of pomegranate arils, and an orange slice to this winter spritz.
    • Make a large batch. Multiply the delicious cocktail recipe by how many guests you’re serving, and mix the Aperol and pomegranate juice in a large pitcher. Serve by pouring around 4 ounces of the mixture into glasses for guests, and then top with Prosecco and a splash of sparkling water. Add a festive garnish or two and enjoy!

    FAQ

Can I use club soda instead of sparkling water?

Yes, you can replace the sparkling water with an equal amount of club soda.

Do I have to use Prosecco?

Aperol spritz is traditionally made with prosecco, but you can use dry/brut cava or champagne.

I love this recipe idea! I never know what to do with the left over Aperol from spring and summer. This is such a clever way to not waste the remaining Aperol or let the bottle collect dust until next year!
