Discover the art of the Bacardi Mojito, where vibrant lime and cool mint mingle over ice for a truly refreshing experience.

Why You'll Love This Bacardi Mojito Recipe
Master the classic Bacardi Mojito: fresh lime juice, mint, and a touch of sweetness, topped with bubbly club soda, perfectly chilled. This classic mint mojito recipe is a staple beverage to serve during the warm summer months, along with my two other refreshing cocktails, the Hugo spritz and an Aperol spritz. Here are more reasons why you will love this Bacardi mojito recipe:
- A traditional mojito with high quality ingredients. The first ever Cuban mojito called for Bacardi superior white rum, making this a classic choice for our mojitos. You'll also taste the difference that fresh lime juice, mint, and organic cane sugar make.
- Made in the convenience of your own home. Making cocktails at home allows you to customize them to your liking.
- Everything is made in one tall glass. No cocktail shaker required! This easy mojito recipe can be made from start to finish in a collins glass or a highball glass.
Bacardi Mojito Recipe Ingredients
You’ll need the following ingredients to make this refreshing classic rum cocktail:
- Rum: An authentic mojito uses white rum, and our rum of choice is Bacardi Superior or Bacardi Silver. It is a light-bodied variant rum with a crisp but smooth, lightly sweetened flavor.
- Lime Juice: Fresh lime juice makes all the difference in flavor. For garnish, add a few frozen lime wedges to your finished mojito. This will also help keep the drink cold along with the ice.
- Mint: Look for fresh mint sprigs that are vibrant in color. You’ll muddle some of the leaves to infuse the mint flavor, and add a sprig at the end for garnish.
- Sweetener: You can use simple syrup to sweeten the drink, but regular cane sugar works just as well without the hassle of making simple syrup. Stirring the cane sugar in the lime juice and rum helps the sugar to fully dissolve. Most mojito recipes call for a tablespoon of sugar, but we've lightened up this version by using half of that amount.
- Club Soda: Just a splash of bubbly club soda (not soda water) or sparkling water at the end brings the drink together to balance out all the flavors.

What Is The Best Rum For Mojitos?
White rum is used in an authentic Cuban mojito. It has a light, very smooth and slightly sweet taste, compared to a more full-bodied dark rum or gold rum.
How To Make A Bacardi Mojito
A step-by-step guide to crafting the perfect white rum cocktail, featuring fresh lime and mint.
- Step 1: Squeeze the juice from a lime and muddle fresh mint leaves. To enhance their aroma, firmly slap the mint leaves against the back of your hand or palm. In a highball or collins glass, combine 8 to 10 fresh mint leaves with ¾ ounce of lime juice and 1½ teaspoons of cane sugar. Gently muddle the mint to release its fragrant oils, being careful not to break the leaves apart.
- Step 2: Add the rum. Add 2 ounces of white rum, and use a cocktail spoon to stir everything together, making sure the sugar is fully dissolved.
- Step 3: Add ice and club soda. Fill the glass ¾ of the way with ice, then top with 2 ounces of club soda. Using the cocktail spoon, give the cocktail one last stir to pull some of the mint leaves through the ice.
- Step 4: Garnish. Add a sprig of mint to the top of the glass for garnish.
Variations
Use this classic Bacardi rum mojito recipe as a base to create several mojito drink variations.
- Strawberry Mojito: Combine 3 sliced strawberries, mint, lime juice, and sugar in the bottom of the collins glass. Muddle until the sugar is dissolved and the berries break down.
- Blueberry Mojito: You’ll do the same as the strawberry mojito, but add 6 blueberries to the muddling process.
- Raspberry Mojito: You’ll do the same as the strawberry mojito, but add 6 raspberries to the muddling process.

- Use fresh ingredients. There are only a handful of simple ingredients in this mojito recipe, which means quality makes all the difference.
- Chill everything. Even though we use ice, you'll want to chill the rum and club soda for an ultra refreshing cocktail.
- Taste and adjust. Making a cocktail at home gives you a chance to customize your drink to your liking. If you prefer a tarter mojito, add an extra teaspoon of lime juice. If you want it sweeter, stir in a bit more sugar the next time.
