    FOUR SIMPLE INGREDIENTS

This recipe contains only four simple ingredients you can feel good about serving your family.

    • Brussels Sprouts
    • Olive Oil
    • Salt
    • Pepper (Optional)

HOW TO OVEN ROAST BRUSSELS SPROUTS

    1. Preheat the oven to 400°F or 425°F, depending on your preference.
    2. With a sharp knife, cut off the ends of each Brussels sprouts if not trimmed, then slice them in half lengthwise. Toss them in a large bowl with olive oil, salt, and pepper
    3. Pour the sprouts onto the baking sheet, spreading them out evenly. Roast for 30-35 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crisp on the outside, with a tenderness to the inside.
    4. Remove the Brussels sprouts from the pan and serve.

DO I NEED TO SOAK THE BRUSSELS SPROUTS BEFORE OVEN ROASTING?

No, you do not have to soak the brussels sprouts prior to roasting. If your brussels sprouts are not prewashed, carefully wash the Brussels whole and dry them thoroughly. Wet Brussels sprouts will not crip as much while roasting.

WHAT TEMPERATURE SHOULD I ROAST MY BRUSSELS SPROUTS?

Depending on the type of oil you use and its smoke point threshold will determine how high your temperature should be. I prefer to roast our Brussels at 400°F, but you can go as high as 425°F when using olive oil. Coconut oil and avocado oil should be made at lower temperatures around 375°F to 400°F.

Please note, that a lower temperature will yield a longer roasting time.

    • 425 °F for 25-30 minutes (olive oil works best)
    • 400 °F for 30-35 minutes (olive, coconut oil, avocado oil )
    • 375°F  for 35-40 minutes (olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil)
